80 kilometres of perfectly groomed high-altitude cross-country ski trails run through the Tauferer Ahrntal valley. And for those who want even more: The valley is part of Dolomiti Nordicski, Europe's largest cross-country skiing carousel with 900 kilometres of trails. The circular trail in Rein in Taufers and the sun trail at the head of the valley in Kasern are among the best.

To the Großer Löffler, to the Blauspitz or Ahrner Kopf: The Ahrntal valley is a real insider tip for ski tourers. 84 three-thousand-metre peaks and many more two-thousand-metre peaks provide plenty of variety. Whether easy tours off-piste or challenges with a high alpine flair - you deserve the descent over deserted powder snow slopes!

If you want to breathe in the nature, head for the toboggan runs in Weißenbach, in Kasern or on the Schwarzbachalm, where you first have to hike the to the top before the fast-paced fun begins. Those who are less keen on walking can enjoy the gondola ride to the mountain station at Speikboden and start the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol from there. Our recommendation: Night tobogganing on the Klausberg every Tuesday evening.
